The Spanish Ambassador’s Visit to the “World of Dalí” Exhibition at Niavaran Palace

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025 (6 Khordad 1404), the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex hosted Antonio Sánchez-Benedito Gaspar, the Ambassador of Spain to Iran, along with his accompanying delegation. This visit took place by official invitation of the Niavaran Complex as part of the Cultural Heritage Week programs.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex, at the start of this visit, Dr. Amir Entekhabi, Director of the Complex, welcomed the guests and stated:
"There are more than 20 works by Spanish artists housed in the museums and storage facilities of the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex. All these works have recently been professionally documented through a gigapixel photography project, which creates opportunities for organizing joint events including exhibitions and specialized meetings in collaboration with Spain."
He further added: "With these high-quality images, we are capable of launching virtual exhibitions and online galleries and developing cooperative projects with Spanish museums."

As reported, the Spanish Ambassador visited various active exhibitions and museums within the complex held on the occasion of International Museum Day and Cultural Heritage Week. He paid a special visit to the “World of Dalí” Exhibition, dedicated to the remarkable works of the renowned Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí.

Expressing his excitement and delight, Ambassador Sánchez-Benedito Gaspar remarked:
"Viewing Salvador Dalí’s works in this historic and cultural setting was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. The careful preservation and artistic presentation of these collections reflect Iran’s deep respect for global art and culture."

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Niavaran Complex in safeguarding the works of international artists and added:
"I sincerely hope that events such as this mark the beginning of a new chapter in cultural collaboration between Spain and Iran. We are fully prepared to engage in joint initiatives, including exhibition exchanges, artistic and cultural programs, and collaborative projects with Iranian institutions."

During this visit, the Spanish Ambassador toured several parts of the complex, including the Niavaran Private Palace, Sahebqaraniyeh Palace Museum, Ahmad Shahi Pavilion Museum, and Jahan Nama Museum. Upon seeing the Spanish artworks displayed at the Jahan Nama Museum, he expressed his excitement and pride, emphasizing that the presence of Spanish art in an Iranian museum serves as a beautiful symbol of cultural dialogue between the two nations.

The “World of Dalí” Exhibition, currently on display at the Niavaran Private Palace, represents a significant effort by the Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex to promote international cultural interactions and introduce global art to Iranian audiences.
